'Way of' Framework
By Mark Hissink Muller
As an extension to the ‘Way of’ Framework, we present an updated model that incorporates the ‘way of naming, versioning & structuring’ and the ‘way of communicating’ as key aspects and drivers for success in larger software development projects.

As software development teams grow, more people need to collaborate, which increases the need for structure. To keep this structure as lightweight as possible, proper naming conventions help team members to understand which concepts are used where and when in the development process.
Such naming conventions need to be implemented in and supported by the tools that teams use, to provide structure and guidance. A simple governing system needs to be in place to quickly see whether the structure is respected and (still) sufficient to address the needs of the organisation.
